Support the living arts through the awareness and education of youngsters, change, from the earliest age, their perception of culture, make it less intimidating, bring it closer, keep it “obvious”, this is the goal of the children’s street festival “La Rue des Enfants”. Because children who visit shows and performances, become adults who visit shows and performances. New-style circuses, theatre, storytelling, puppets, dancing, musical shows, improbable clowns, crazy bands, street arts…
The “Rue des Enfants” agenda holds the ambition to be eclectic and demanding. The festival is held at the beginning of September.
The association organises each summer a farmer’s market, held from 5.30 pm to 8 pm every Wednesday evening in July and August. You’ll find stalls offering fruit and vegetables, duck conserves, delicatessen, bread and pastries, cheeses, Quercy Safran… and handicrafts. You have the possibility to eat “farmer’s plates” on site. Each market is enlivened by free-of-charge concerts.
Each July, for three days, the “Chanson à Text” poetical music festival in Montcuq-en-Quercy-Blanc, programmes singer-song-writer “poets” for their pertinence, their texts and their stage talent. A pre-concert meal is served each evening in the college courtyard. Complementary to the concerts, at the end of the morning, festival-goers may share an aperitif with the artists. Each afternoon, a café-concert, open to all, takes place in the village centre at the Café de France.
This hiker’s association, established in the village of Lhospitalet in January 2017, bases its activity on dynamic Nordic walking but also with a walkers section. Outings are organised each week over a large range of circuits (40 or more local destinations).
